Here are some other things I do with my spare time. They all involve writing in some fashion, because that is my number one favorite thing ever.
Active Voice
A blogging collaboration with my good friend Jess. We’re both voracious readers and particularly interested in a) science fiction/fantasy, and b) kids and YA books. At Active Voice we provide in-depth reviews of, well, kids/YA science fiction and fantasy. We analyze from a fairly liberal perspective, with a particular emphasis on the treatment and roles of female characters.
Tweenage Wasteland
Another blogging collaboration with Jess, albeit a much sillier one. Our interest in YA doesn’t end with books; at Tweenage, we lovingly poke fun at the Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, and TigerBeat (etc).
The Novel…?
Like most people on the internet, I’m writing one. Check back in a few months for updates. (Current novel status: the rough draft is complete! Now comes the process of turning it into something I’m not embarrassed to have other people read…)
